Assistant Professor Ruksan Cehreli Dokuz Eylul University

Dr Cehreli completed master’s degree at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. In1990 she received her PhD degree on the program   Nutrition and Metabolism from the Hacettepe University Institute of Pediatric Health.

Dr Cehreli continued as a clinician at Children Hospital of Hacettepe University in 1992 and then started to work as a specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine at Dokuz Eylül University İzmir. In 1994, She participated in short-term post-doctoral studies on amino acid metabolism disorders in Heidelberg, Germany.

In 2003, Dr Cehreli started to work as Assistant professor at Department of Prevantive Oncology and experimental oncology,İnstitue of Oncology  at Dokuz Eylul University.

Dr Cehreli teaches courses on Molecular nutrition and cancer , “Nutritional genomics and cancer , Nutritional epidemiology and cancer  in the Institute’s Basic oncology master and doctoral programs.

Her main scientific areas of research are moleculer nutritional ımmunology, Which nutrients modulate the process of cell cycle , apoptosis tumorigenesis .İn recent years  major current research topic is on cancer and epigenetics mechanisms.

Dr Cehreli gave lectures and presented papers in this fields in many national and international congresses, symposiums and courses. At the same time  She has published works in national and international journals and and book chapters

She has been executive and board member of Turkish Cancer Research and Combat Foundation, Geriatric Oncology Association. And she has memberships in many associations  in National and International.

Dr Cehreli is currently a member of the Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Oncology Deparment of Preventive Oncology and Palliative Care Center Board of member.

At the same time she continues to serve as the head  of Nutritional Support Committee  Dokuz Eylul University Research and Application Hospital.

In  2018 Dr Cehreli was appointed as the founding  Head of Nutrition and Dietetic Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dokuz Eylul University .

Dr. Çehreli also continues  molecular experimental and clinical her studies on tumor biology, nutritional immunology, nutrigenomics and epigenetic relations of chemo-prevantion and specific nutrients in experimental oncology and clinical oncology.
